After Hunstanton Round Table were visited by a representative from the Guide Dogs association, one Tabler decided to #domore to help their cause.
Jill’s talk at their regular Table night, accompanied by dog Ruby lead to member Andrew Bingham getting in the saddle for Ride London 100 which consisted of a 100-mile cycle.
Andrew said, “As a Table, we decided to make a donation to a worthwhile cause. However, rather than just handing over a cheque, I decided it would be better all-around to make it into a challenge and that’s how taking on the Ride London 100 came about”.
The Ride London 100 course covers the same route as was used in the 2012 London Olympics, complete with the dreaded climbs of Leith and Box Hill.
“I don’t mind admitting at times I had to question my sanity as the pain kicked in but in true Table spirit I knew I had to make it to the end” added Andrew, “The final mile down the mall made it all worthwhile even if my legs were screaming otherwise”.
“I can’t wait for the next member of Hunstanton to step up to the challenge”.
So far, Andrew has raised £1000 for Guidedogs. If you’d like to boost his total, you can donate on his JustGiving page here .
