Lytham Round Table Celebrates 80 Years Of Supporting The Community


Lytham Round table was Chartered in 1938., they take their membership from all over the Fylde Coast.  Their members believe in having fun while also raising thousands of pounds for local good causes as well as organising the annual fireworks display at Fylde Rugby Club and helping Santa visit children with his sleigh at Christmas.


On the 5th October Lytham Round Table No130 held their 80th Charter Year Celebration at the Clifton Arms Hotel in Lytham.  They were joined by members past and present as well as members from neighbouring Tables and also from as far afield as Beacon Bay, South Africa and Fredericksburg, Denmark!  Guests enjoyed a fantastic array of entertainment including comedian Johnny Casson along with Magician and Raconteur Mr. Harry Robson.


Round Table member,  James Booker, owner of Lytham Brewery created and laid on a special “Charter Ale” for the event. 


Guest of honour, Paul Agnew, Round Table Britain & Ireland National Vice President gave a rousing speech about how the organisation helps keep community spirit alive and the great times and friendships it provides for its members.   As well as celebrating this momentous occasion, the organisation also raised vital funds for Neonatal Intensive Care Ward at the Blackpool Victoria Hospital where premature and sick babies are cared for.  


Richard Darby, Chairman of Lytham Round Table said: “It’s an absolute pleasure and privilege to be the Chairman of this fantastic organisation.  I am very proud of everything that Lytham Round Table has achieved.  This year alone we have enjoyed Graffiti Golf, Pro-karting night at three sisters race track in Wigan, BBQs, Foot Golf, Soap Box Racing and much more! Lytham Round Table has raised thousands of pounds for local good causes over the past 80 years and we look forward to continuing this with the upcoming Charity Firework Display at Flyde Rugby Club on the 5th November” 


Lytham Round Table will stage the Charity Fireworks Display at Fylde Rugby Club on the 5th November. Everyone is welcome. Tickets can be bought on the gate or at discounted price in advance from reception at Fylde RUFC, Aireys Wine Store, The Pavilion.
