Newcastle Round Table are aiming to spread some Christmas cheer with a week packed with good deeds.
Today (Monday 21st December), three of their members will present a cheque for £1000 to the West End Food Bank after the theft of toys which were destined to go to needy families this Christmas.
The group have been supporting local food banks for over 20 years and responded to their call for help.
Following the presentation of the cheque at 1pm, three members of Newcastle Round Table will head to the Royal Victoria Infirmary to dish out over 200 selection boxes to the children who will spend Christmas on the wards rather than at home.
To finish up their afternoon, they'll be heading to Haven food bank at 3pm to help distribute food that was collected previously.
It's not over for the guys as Wednesday will see them host a pensioners dinner for senior citizens from the local community who are going to be alone this Christmas.
Newcastle Round Table runs a number of events throughout the year and is open to men aged 18-45 who want to have a bit of fun whilst giving back to the local community.
