An up and coming racing star is set to rev up interest in Round Table this year – by making it a king of the track.
Student Jonathan Davis is poised to get behind the wheel for his second season in the BMW Compact Cup in car which will be emblazoned with the Association’s logo, based on the Round Table hanging in Winchester’s Great Hall.
Round Table is the largest social club in the world for young men, with clubs in 57 countries worldwide.
Davis, who picked up the Best Rookie trophy on his debut season in 2014, will be backed by Round Table this coming year. His father Chris is a former Round Table member at Deeping Round Table and currently back in office as President of the Lincolnshire area.
The car has been liveried by a fellow Tabler – John Paul Horton (Lincoln By Design)– in striking fashion ensuring it will stand out even when going flat out on the track.
The car got its first airing at Donnington on Sunday (29th March 2015) with six further meets including action at Brands Hatch and Silverstone before the final meet back at Donnington in October.
Jonathan adds ‘It is with great pride that I shall be carrying the flagship Round Table roundel around with myself this year, as being backed by such an eye opening and inspiring group of young guys will only push me harder to achieve my goals within the BMW Compact Cup this year’.
Jonathan is optimistic for the year ahead, with the objective being to finish in the top three of the championship. With Round Table members cheering him on across the UK, maybe even the top spot is achievable!
