Helping children across the UK be safe, happy, secure, and allowing them the chance to reach their potential, Children In Need is always a brilliant cause that we at Round Table love to support, and this year you guys have been raising even more vital funds for those who desperately need it! Here are just a few of the activities from this year’s Round Table do Children in Need.
Sore arses for the Fishguard tablers
On the 16th and 17th November members of Fishguard & District Round Table embarked on an epic 2 day cycle ride from Limerick Ireland to Fishguard Lower Town harbour to raise as much as they could for BBC Children in Need.
Totalling almost 125 miles, the group set off from Limerick, the birth place of Sir Terry Wogan, who did so much for Children in Need over his many years involved with the charity before sadly passing away earlier this year. From there, they cycled all the way back to Rosslare harbour, splitting the distance over two days. They re-joined the rest of Round Table in Lower Town for the group’s annual Children in Need bridge collection for the Children’s in Need’s big day, Friday 18th November.
The sore bottomed tablers said “With your help and we hope to raise a sum for Children in Need larger than anything we have done before! Together we CAN!!” To donate to the incredible efforts of Table 816 and to find out more about the journey visit www.facebook.com/RoundTableFishguardDistrict
Maidenhead Tablers shaking their hips for those in need
On 12th November the Maidenhead Round Tablers and Ladies Circle were shaking their hips for BBC Children In Need and saw more than £285 raised! More than 30 people joined the special class on Saturday morning, organised jointly by Maidenhead Ladies Circle and Maidenhead Round Table, held at Desborough College. Plus BBC cameras were on hand to film the class and even Pudsey made an appearance!
Thank you to Desborough College and the instructor Niki who lent their time and space for free, meaning all the proceeds will go to charity.
